I enjoy photography, running marathons, flatwater kayaking, gardening, cooking, making jam and jelly, brewing hard cider, and grilling and barbecuing tasty meats. At work, I design physician software and train doctors on how to use it. I volunteer with a dog rescue called The Sato Project. And I occasionally give a tour or class on the history of Boston's Back Bay through the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
I take a lot of pictures. I take pictures of Boston, of my adventures, of breaking news, of animals, and flowers, and sunsets. I post the decent ones on my website. You can consider this the canonical site for Jacob Sconyers. When all the rest are gone, this site will abide. Call it <link rel="me canonical">, ya know?
I like to paddle on our local rivers, but there aren't a lot of online resources to help you plan a trip. The site I used to rely on went offline, so I created this one. It is built on WordPress, with a commercial theme and deep Google Maps integration. Tell your paddling friends!
My wife and I are decent cooks. We blog here at irregular intervals about the things we make.
I spend a good amount of time on Facebook. This is a primary way that I communicate with people I'm friends with IRL.
I'm a runner. All my runs are logged on Endomondo with a map, pace, distance, etc. Are you a runner? We should be friends on Endomondo.
My phone takes immersive 360 degree panoramas. I post them to Google Views so that they're searchable on Google Maps.
Curious what music and podcasts I've been listening to? If I played it on my phone, you should see it on last.fm.
I use Picasa to mirror my pictures, as a sort of tertiary backup if my computer, local backup drive, and Carbonite account all suddenly failed.
Because I mirror my pictures to Picasa, they end up showing up here on G+. I also use Hangouts for IM and video chat. I do not, however, actively maintain my G+ profile.
Universal Hub is the finest Boston news blog. They've featured several of my photos.

The Make Way for ducklings statue all decked out for spring.

A power outage in the Cleary Square Shaw's.
Boston's post-snow practice of "space saving" finally spreads to Mayor Menino's neighborhood.
I've also had some photos featured in online and print editions of traditional media outlets.
